Jules Bianchi is speaking at PartnerCon again!

Last September, I was one of the speakers for the 1st Annual Pictage Partner Conference. It was an amazing experience which prompted me to submit a proposal to the Digital Wedding Forum Conference in April. I was accepted to speak there (on TWO occasions because my seminar filled up so fast!) and again, had an incredible time.

I decided to submit again for the 2nd Annual Pictage PartnerCon, only THIS time, the thousands of photographers who are part of the Pictage family voted on all the submitted papers so they could hear the speakers THEY wanted.

Well! I just found out this morning that my proposal has been accepted, and I'll be speaking for PartnerCon again this September! I am so flattered and grateful to all of you who voted for me. I am so honored to be on a list that includes talented friends of mine such as David Jay, Mike Colon, Sara France, Jessica Claire, and the fabulous Dane Sanders. Its going to be hard to choose which seminars to attend.

And as in Vegas, I will be doing a few mentoring sessions which I really love. I think its nice to connect with other photographers on such an intimate level, and I certainly wish I'd had someone to do that for ME when I first started.

Palo Alto Family Portrait

The Maroulis Family.

What an adorable family!! This past Sunday I drove back down to Palo Alto to shoot their portraits at their home. I am happy to go to any location to shoot portraits, but I've always felt family portraits will be more significant years later if they are done at home!

Woodside, California

christine & douglas.

I was really excited to finally meet Christine and Doug since up until the wedding we had only spoken over the phone. They turned out to be an extremely cool couple with impeccable taste. Jolie, from City Celebrations, did an amazing job of pulling off a flawless event.

During the reception, I often have a slideshow of the day's favorite images from the wedding. I have finally gotten on the ball and used the cool ShowIt Web program to bring a smaller version of the slideshow to my blog! You can check out Christine & Doug's slideshow by clicking here.

Its always so hard to choose my favorites, but here are a few:

I just love this shot of the rings and their vows...

I love the internet...

Christine & Doug see each other for the first time...

The new family.

As a surprise, Doug sang "The Blower's Daughter" to his new wife...

Its so great when a couple hires someone like Zephyr tents to light and tent the event!!

Westlake Village Family Portrait

the rode family.

Yesterday I did a family portrait for a really nice family in Westlake Village. I love documenting people because I am so nostalgic, and I am aware of how great it is to have fun shots of the most important people in your life! I strive to capture people's true personalities when I shoot, and I just love what I saw yesterday.

Huntington Gardens, revisited.

Shooting at The Huntington Gardens is so great because of the amazing variety of textures and backgrounds that are there. It is also where Al proposed to Becky, so they felt it would be the perfect place to have their engagement photos taken! They are such an adorable couple, and I can't wait to shoot their wedding at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills this October.

What I saw:

This is the very bench where Al proposed...

Las Vegas Wedding!

joy & brett.

My sister, Joy, and her husband, Brett, were married June 10, 1995. For their eleven-year anniversary, they decided to renew their vows Vegas-style! I drove out there on Saturday morning to join them for one of the funniest weddings I've ever attended. More impressive, though, is that Joy wore the same wedding gown as she did for her original wedding!

what I saw:

Arriving to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Off to the church!

The King himself walked Joy down the aisle...

Who says Elvis is dead?

Joy & Brett got a lot of attention on Fremont Street.

I thought Joy & Brett looked amazing

Cross processing and the Vintage Swinglens

One thing that I like to do at most of my weddings is shoot a roll or two of film. I just got back the film from Meichih and David's Ritz Carlton wedding, and I just have to share a few images!

I own this cool vintage swinglens camera that takes a 120 degree panoramic on 35mm film and allows me to get cool images like this:

And this shot was taken with a toy Holga using slide film that I cross processed. Its so fun to see these shots after I've already gone through all the digital stuff... its like icing on the cake!

Heisler Park, Laguna Beach

Once again, Jules ends up soaking wet and covered with sand at another engagement portrait on the beach. Just so long as I get the shot... and my camera doesn't get ruined, I can handle a little muck.

I am SO excited to shoot Jennifer and Michael's wedding this July! They are a fun, good-looking couple - what photographer could ask for more?

Encinitas Wedding

elizabeth & jared.

This weekend I drove down to San Diego to shoot a wedding at a private residence with my good friend and talented photographer, Sara France. She will return the favor by shooting with me at the Four Seasons Hotel in LA later this year! I love spending time with her because she is just so much fun.

What I saw:

I just had to put this one in here... I took this shot of Sara WHILE I was driving and she was standing out my sunroof to photograph the Thunderbird as the couple drove off from the church!! Did I mention how fun Sara is??

My friends are all photographers...

Today, a bunch of my favorite photographers had lunch at Buddha's Belly here in LA. We own great equipment to shoot our weddings, but for gatherings like this, its all about the point-and-shoot.

I just LOVE this cute shot of my favorite photography husband-and-wife team, Doug and Chenin Boutwell.

I think this picture of Jim Kennedy waving Becker's point-and-shoot away is so funny! You think Becker is fast when he shoots weddings, you should see him with this thing!!
